As I have grown up,I've seen the Hindu Festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi,Dussehra and Diwali celebrations get a tinge of austerity to them,which makes these celebrations more sensible...
The number of Green-eco friendly Ganesh idols are increasing... Diwali is on its path of enlightenment with fewer crackers...Definitely required for the well being of the supposed creations of God....
I know that these haven't susidised entirely,but a hint of change is encouraging....
Happy festival time !!!
Conserve our habitat so that we can celebrate,and let our future generations taste the joy of festivals....
I really appreciate simple celebrations. It'll be great if more worship God in simple and sincere means than indulge in grandiose stuff.
ReplyDeleteThis Ganasha Chaturthi I'd been a good kid, making the 'torana', getting articles for the puje... but stayed away from the kitchen chores;)
We performed a simple puje....
The neighbourhood 'aunty' who used to prepare great delicacies all these years was not keeping well
this time. So missed out on that share...
Then at midnight Ganesha was taken on a procession through the locality, with irritating blare:(. I'm sure even He must have detested it!
Anyway, it was a good day :)
Yeah..There are lots of things which if we do not do will please the God better...
